We are now recruiting for a Network Controller who will be responsible for proactively monitoring the MML tram network to ensure a safe, reliable and efficient operation at all, during their hours of duty and act accordingly.
The Network Controller must be able to adopt a flexible approach, to ensure a high level of performance and ensure a continued focus on the needs of the both the internal and external customer. The Network Controller manages safety critical tasks and must maintain safety critical competencies including driving a tram.
As our Network Controller, your key responsibilities will be:
- To support MML in its objective in offering a safe, reliable and efficient tram service along with an excellent customer service to the public.
- Controlling operational response to incidents.
- Ensure MML is delivering the best service before, during and after special events.
- Controlling incidents on the network and give instructions to restore service as soon as possible in a safe manner.
- Start to implement the service regulation by measuring headway.
- Carry out all electrical switching and emergency isolations as required.
- Proactively monitor CCTV across the network through Veracity.
- Provide clear and consistent communications and instructions to deliver the best service in normal conditions and in case of disruptions.
- Work closely with customer services to deliver correct and precise information.
- Provide correct and precise information to passengers via PID’s in the absence of customer service team.
- Provide excellent communication in relation to the service (by radio or phone).
- Ensure all information gathered is accurate for recording on Agility and of the required standard.
- Provide timely service update as required.
- Liaise with Emergency Services.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Be a MML company representative at all times and have a “Think like a passenger attitude at all times”.
- Provide clear and detailed reports, when required.
- Report faults identified on the network in a timely manner.
- Be competent in using Office 364 and SharePoint on a regular basis.
- Use of SmarTrams and SCADA.
- Use of CCTV Veracity system.
- All mobile controller duties including speed checks, incident supervision (on-site).
- Any other duties that are commensurate with fulfilling the role.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:
- Able to meet our shift working patterns which will include working 24 hours shift system and weekend, and bank holiday working.
- Network, operations and customer service expertise
- Relevant operational experience within MML.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is required for the role
- Current tram driving competency.
