We are now recruiting for a Civils Work Team Member to support Midland Metro Ltd.’s mission which is to provide a safe and reliable tram service.

As an Infrastructure Civil Works Team Member for West Midlands Metro, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of tram stops, including tactile paving, blockwork, pedestrian crossings, and tram stop furniture.

Your role includes maintaining drainage systems both on and off the track, painting MML structures, and ensuring public safety by promptly addressing hazards such as trip, slip, and fall risks.

You'll also manage trackside vegetation to keep it within safe zones and ensure the tramway is free of obstructions.

Your work will contribute to maintaining a safe and visually appealing network for all passengers.

In addition to this as our Civils Work Team Member, you will be responsible for:

  • Knowledge and competence in landscaping or construction
  • Lookout Duties
  • Support with the switching of electrical substations

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you:

  • To have GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
  • Recognised building and landscaping qualifications
  • A flexible approach to working hours 
  • To work unsocial hours as & when required
  • Ability to use own initiative 
  • To be able to work on different equipment’s e.g. Chain saw.
  • Have experience of working in a safety culture 
  • Must be able to drive and hold a Full UK driving Licence
  • To work on a shift system which may include nights
  • Tree felling and climbing trees

It would be great if you had experience in the following:

  • Demonstratable computer literacy and writing skills
